SUMMARY:Rhode Island Elks Picnic for Citizens with Special Needs
DESCRIPTION:Calling all Christmas\, Holiday\, and other performers!\nIt would be a difficult task to find a bigger picnic in Rhode Island than the Elks 365 Outing\, which takes place on the first Thursday of August every year\, August 6th\, 2026. It is a heart-warming and extraordinary event that tugs at the heartstrings of every Elk and public official. The event is completely free for guests and is funded primarily by donations from RI Elks members through their 365 program. \nLast year\, the Rhode Island State Elks Association welcomed over 2500 citizens with special needs and their caregivers to the Masonic Youth Center off Long Street in Warwick\, offering vistas of Greenwich Bay. They handed out about 6\,000 items! Such as hats\, beads\, bracelets\, and blow-up guitars. Each guest was enthusiastically offered beaded necklaces from volunteers upon their entrance to the event. \nBesides a few of us Claus performers (15) visiting. Shriners Clowns were there entertaining. Lively music played by a DJ kept the energy going. \nSo\, get your coolest Summer Performer Attire together and join us for a truly emotionally rewarding day serving the citizens with special needs of our communities! Again\, everything is provided for you\, Food\, & Give aways! \nDirections: Masonic Youth Center 116 Long St Warwick RI 028886 \nWhen you turn onto the street that leads to the park drive slowly following the road all the way to the back. You will be parking amongst the trees and on the grass. Once parked keep pretty much follow the crowds to the covered picnic tables. \n

SUMMARY:Community Event Connor’s Kindness Project
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us in giving back to the local community. We have partnered with Connor’s Kindness Project to assist them with fulfilling their packing needs of Kindness Boxes. What is Connor’s Kindness Project? Here is their story. \nIn 2021\, Connor\, along with his nana\, Sharon Marrama\, started creating Covid Care Packages filled with activities and comfort items and delivered them to children in their community that were sick or in isolation from Covid. From there\, Connor and Sharon worked on a few other projects\, including compiling self-care baskets for the healthcare workers at Boston area hospitals\, holding a clothing and essentials drive to benefit another nonprofit\, Catie’s Closet\, and collaborating with Birthday Wishes to build and delivering 42 “birthday-in-a-box” for children in shelters. These experiences morphed into ideas about how CKP could execute their own mission\, and the Kindness Kit was born\, becoming CKP’s initial signature initiative. It was shortly thereafter that CKP became a MA nonprofit business and a 501 (c)(3). TO learn more about this amazing program\, click this link https://connorskindnessproject.org/ \nThose who are participating are asked to bring a ~$5 to $10 Lego Branded set and/or donate $25 to their organization. We will meet for Lunch at Panera Bread 300 Mishawum Rd Suite 500 Building E\, at 11:00am then off to help pack the boxes from 12:15-1:45pm. Space is very limited for this special event. Please join us for this unique and rewarding event. \nLocation: Connor’s Kindness Project 400 West Cummings Park Suite 3100 Woburn MA 01801\nPhone 781-389-3458 \n
