We’ll visit the Alcott’s homestead\, where the docents have selected a special Christmas-flavored program for our group. \nThere will be some time before\, between\, and after  events to tour many historically significant Revolutionary sites\, literary points of interest\, or stroll downtown. \n \nMrs. Claus Origins & Her Role Today\nPresentation & Luncheon\nConcord’s Colonial Inn\n48 Monument Square\, Concord\, MA 01742\n12:30 – 4:00 pm\nWe’ll make an afternoon visit to a landmark historic hotel; a sister property of the Publick House in Sturbridge\, for a sandwich buffet and presentation. Learn from your friends and partners\, the professional Mrs. Clauses of the New England Santa Society. \nAmong the topics to be covered: \n\nHow Mrs. Claus came to be; from her first mentions in early publications\, books\, songs\, cartoons and television\, to the modern day action hero who uses exploding gingerbread in Christmas Chronicles II and mission control officer “Partridge” from Red One.\nWho is Mrs. Claus? What can she do? Learn how Santa profits when he performs as a duo; or as his fill in.\n“Mrs. Right” Learn how to cast a great double act. There is a NESS Mrs. Claus ready to work with\, or even for Santa\, with complementary skills\, talents\, suits\, props and accessories for any traditional or unconventional location and occasion.\nHow to successfully book your partner act. Fun ways to include Mrs. Claus in a backstory\, and bring vibrance\, humor\, and a warm\, comfortable dynamic to any visit.\nThe Misses and You: What Not To Do Tales from seasoned veterans!\nAsk Mrs. Claus Qs\, & honest As.\nImprov exercises pre-performance warm ups from our own – and Hollywood’s – Mrs. C!\nImprov\, in practice. Learn from pro Claus couples\, who will demonstrate how they collaborate. We’ll pair up and practice unscripted scenes\, and learn from each other how to work as a team.\n\nRegister quickly. Only 26 spots are available for afternoon program.\nFull Event: $65 \nMorning Session Only: $20 \nAfternoon Program with Luncheon: $55 \nThis event is open only to New England Santa Society members and spouse/partners. \n \nWhile in Concord…there will be some time before\, between\, and after  events to tour many historically significant Revolutionary sites\, literary points of interest\, or stroll downtown. \nThe year 2025 will mark the 250th anniversary of the historic battles of Concord and Lexington and 2026 will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. What better time to explore the history of the founding of our country. \nThere are many outstanding historic landmarks\, literary sites\, unique shops and scenic areas to visit in Concord and the surrounding towns. The most notable (and a quick visit) is Old North Bridge\, site of the “Shot Heard Round the World;” Walden Pond where Thoreau went to “Simplify\, simplify\, simplify!:” Author’s Ridge in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery\, last resting place of Louisa May Alcott\, Ralph Waldo Emerson\, Daniel Chester French\, Nathaniel Hawthorne\, Henry David Thoreau and others; other historic cemeteries right in Concord center with gravestones dating back to 1677; The Battle Road Trail and Minute Man Historical Park.
