Reindeer and Candle Pins
Join us north of Boston for a fun time visiting real reindeer and doing traditional New England bowling!
Arrive by 9:00am to gather before heading into the Zoo. – Stone Zoo, 149 Pond Street, Stoneham, MA. We will start the day by exploring the Stone Zoo and the animals then, at 10:15am, gather at the reindeer enclosure where one of the Animal Care staff will share information on their reindeer. Following the discussion, you will have until 11:30am to finish visiting the zoo.
Next, we are onto the Wakefield Bowladrome. -92 Water Street, Wakefield, MA. The Wakefield Bowladrome is an old-style candlepin bowling alley owned by the same family since 1953. The Bowladrome is a popular filming location for movies set in the 1970s, best known for hosting the production of George Clooney’s “The Tender Bar” (2021) starring Ben Affleck, and Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers” (2023) starring Paul Giamatti. We start bowling at noon. Plenty of food is provided for lunch. So, grab your plates, lace up those shoes and get ready to knock ’em down! No computer scoring here! It’s all on paper! Who will get the highest pin count?
