Advanced Workshop (2028)

This advanced workshop will focus on technology, programs, apps, and online services for enhancing, streamlining and improving Claus activities and services. This is a hands-on workshop for participants to create and build tools and systems for the coming season. Participants will determine which topics will be given the most attention.

Gig Sites & Online Agents: Creating profiles that stand out. Taking advantage of program features like saved messages, templates, contracts, messaging, etc. How online agents work and how to improve your chances of getting work.

Integrated Systems: Google, Microsoft and other companies offer a group of integrated programs that will work together, saving time, energy and costs. Calendar, contact lists, documents, email and more can be managed from one system. Overview of the packages. How they can help manage North Pole activities.

Webpage Options: Objectives and purpose for creating a webpage. Low cost and easy to manage options. Using Facebook or other social media pages as your online presence.

Management Tools: Review of various tools for invoicing, getting paid, mileage tracking, navigation, using spreadsheets, recording revenue & expenses, managing your calendar,

Artificial Intelligence: AI offers some practical, easy to use ways to help the North Pole team create text, illustrations, management tools and handle other tasks.

Email Tools & Techniques: Learn to take full advantage of your email program features including mail merge, templates, scheduling, mailing lists, receipt & delivery alerts, automated emails, etc. Mail services like Mail Chimp & Constant Contact will be covered.

Social Media: Best Social Media options for the North Pole. Using Social Media to market your services. How to build a following. What to post. Advertising through Social Media.

Virtual Visits & Other Services: How to use Zoom, Skype, Facebook Live, live phone chats and other services for virtual visits and other activities. Creating prerecorded videos. Setting up a home studio. Using Green Screen Technology. Learning how to use a teleprompter.

Participants should have completed an introductory Santa/Mrs. Claus course of some kind and have two or more years experience with numerous appearances as a holiday performer. If space allows, those with less experience may be allowed to participate.
